Packages and Prices (Effective from 01st Aug 2011)

Msengoni Homestays specialises in providing tailor-made packages which incorporate one's accommodation and tours towards Kenya's top tourism attractions.

The homestay prices vary according to the amenities that one receives from the host family; the location of the homestay, its proximity to the town centre, own bedroom/bathroom, swimming pool, number of meals a day, proximity to airport (bus & train stations), shopping malls, laundry services, et cetera.

Students and Volunteers automatically qualify for discounted rates.

To qualify for the discounted rates, students & volunteers must be staying for a minimum of 4 weeks.

1) Students & Volunteers Requirements

Includes:

  • Two meals per day (breakfast & dinner) Monday to Friday and lunch on weekends

  • Own/shared bedroom with desk, chair and lamp

  • English-speaking environment

  • Guest homestay manual

  • SIM cards
Twin beds are also possible for guests who wish to share a room.

Minimum stay - 5 days

University students with valid ID cards

  • Necessary documentation should be sent in advance.

  • Price for single days will be charged at a premium.

  • Volunteers must show proof of where they plan to help out, although this can be arranged
2) Airport Transfers Fees:

Airport pickup service to homestay.

*Group Transfers are priced separately.

*Transfers outside Nairobi are priced separately.

*Transfers from one Homestay to another are priced separately i.e. when one moves between towns.
3) Homestay Search & Placement Fees:

The fee covers:

  • Registration and Certification of Hosts

  • Training of Hosts on cross-cultural understanding

  • Guest homestay manual

Students & Volunteers
Standard (More than 1 month notice): EURO €10.00

Other Guests
Standard (More than 1 month notice): EURO €20.00

4) Change of Homestay Placement Fees:

This secondary homestay placement fee will be charged if the guest moves from one home to another i.e. between towns

Standard (4 weeks notice): EURO €5.00

Urgent (Less than 4 weeks notice): EURO €10.00

*These charges apply to all guests.
5) Medical travel insurance Fees:
  • Covers amount required to settle treatment costs incurred during the first 48 hours after medical emergency.

  • Enables immediate admission into any major hospital in the country

  • Has no cover limit.
